Mister Tongue is my fun looking food art for Gab. It simply uses the same quesadilla recipe from the Quesadilla Mountain.
Mister Tongue was just made on-the-fly. I did not make any prior sketches and just got whatever was on the fridge. It turned out fun making changes here and there on the plating to finally come up with something interesting for Gab.
When Gab saw it, he was smiling and imitated his food. He stuck his tongue out.
Here’s what is on the plate.
1 to 3. Eyes. A combination of apple slices, lettuce and grapes. Gab loves the fruits but not the lettuce.
4. Teeth. I cut out squares and rectangles from sliced cheese to make these set of teeth. The more random the sizes, the more fun it looks.
5. Mouth. A cheese quesadilla with some grated carrots in it too. I bought whole wheat tortillas at French Baker. They also have spinach tortillas which can be a good option too.
6. Tongue. A thin slice of tomato. Without the tomato, it will look like smiley. I though Mister Tongue will be more interesting.
It turned out to be interesting for Gab. He giggled when he saw his food and stuck out his tongue as well.
