Sonic Junky Mini Speakers Review

I have been looking around for a mini speaker for my sister’s new iPod. After weeks of looking around, I was able to find the one that suits my taste. Sonic Junky is a high performance mini speaker that blows a good bass sound. It also comes with a Sonic Junky app that you can download from iTunes for free.

The Sonic Junky may look just like other mini speakers. I was torn between buying the Sonic Junky and a Capdase Mini Speaker. While the Capdase have more features like the Micro SD Card Slot, the Sonic Junky easily outclass the others with its deep base sound. It was surprising to hear such bass for a small device but you can clearly hear it pounding. However, setting the volume at maximum creates distortion of the sound.

You may need to lower down the volume to get some clarity in the audio.  But even at 50% volume,  the music and the bass is loud enough to be heard.

The size of the Sonic Junky is just right.  It comes with a pouch which is great for travelling.  The exterior has a smooth and glossy finish which matches the elegant design of the new iPhone or iPod.  Sonic Jucky comes in 3 colors so far: White, Black and Yellow.

Another unique feature of Sonic Junky is the color coded LED lamp near the base of the mini speaker.  A soft blue indicates a good battery charge, while a red would indicate a low battery charge. Sonic Junky says that the speaker can last up to 8 hours on full charge.

Finally, the exciting feature of the Sonic Junky is its ability to be chained together.  Thus, you can have 2 or even five Sonic Junky mini speakers connected together for that loud and proud sound all over the place. Great for a weekend party in the house.  😀 I’m not sure if there is a maximum number of mini speakers that you can chain together.

Sonic Junky App is also available at iTunes for FREE. It’s a music app with an equalizer, volume controls and playlists.  The equalizer features are great and compliments the speakers with its wide selection of presets. The playlist, however, was not well implemented and the play buttons are not responsive to the touch.

Sonic Junky costs 1,750 and is available at  Astrovision at the 3rd Floor of Greenbelt 5.  Sonic Junky is also available in Digital Walker, Digital Hub and Beyond the Box outlets.
