Product Review: Chicco Polly Highchair

At Gab’s 6th month, we’re getting ready for Gab’s first solid foods. Part of it is getting him a chair. As recommended by Gab’s pedia, it is important to establish good eating habits with the baby.  We have to make sure that all feeding will be in the high chair and no feeding while at other activities.

After looking and comparing different high chairs, we decided to get this high chair from Chicco. We have been using this for over a year now.

Here’s what we love about the Chicco Polly Highchair:

1. Sturdy and safe.
This is our first priority for choosing the high chair. We have to make sure that it’s a safe place for Gab to be in considering that he moves and wiggles a lot even when sitting.
It has a 5-point harness with strap covers to keep baby secure. It also has a t-bar, inbetween baby’s legs to prevent slipping under the tray and keep the baby in place.

2. Comfortable Seat with very cushey pad.
It has no hard sharp edges. The seat pad is available in more than a dozen color and pattern combinations. For Gab, we got the blue design with the owl print.

3. Several height adjustments and recline.
There’s seven height adjustments for this chair. You can easily set the height to be easy on your arms for the first feedings and adjust the high chair to booster seat height for toddlers. These adjustments help fit a variety of babies and tables. There are three recline positions to accommodate smaller babies.

4. Adjustable footrest.
This high chair’s footrest can be adjusted in height and in angle for comfort even for long-legged toddlers.

5. Removable tray insert.
Tray insert is removable, wipes clean easily and is dishwasher safe. There’s a t-bar attached to the bottom of the tray to keep baby from slipping out of the highchair.

6. Compact fold for storage.
The legs and armressts fold in, the tray can be stored on the back, and the footrest can be removed making the highchair slim and easy to store. The wheels on the bottom needs to be locked when it’s folded, or you can’t lean the highchair against a wall.

However, there are some crevices on the armrests, on the baby-side of the tray and grooves on the seat pad that can collect food. These areas are hard to clean and cannot be easily wipe off. Other than this, we are happy that we got this for Gab’s high chair.
