AppleTree Books Ipad App Review

One of the iPad Apps for kids that I look forward to are the interactive ebooks from AppleTree Books. They have great selection of stories and an interactive approach that kids will surely love.

Apple Tree Books

I already mentioned that AppleTree Books have lots of stories to choose from.  They have the classic fairy tales and popular stories from different countries.  My favorite are the bundle collections which are cheaper.  Some collection have 10 stories for just 2.99 USD.  That is great value compared to buying each title individually at 0.99 USD.

What’s even interesting are stories and collection that have a specific theme.  Among them are Virtue Education Story Series, Mind Growth Stories Series and Emotion Management Stories Series. These are great collections in teaching your children good values and other disciplines.

Each book is well written and well drawn.  There are plenty of illustrations in each book.  The illustration are just right.  They are bright, colorful and not too crowded.  Different books are rendered by different artists.  So each one can have a fresh design to it.

Narration was done very well also.  The voice was not monotonous and carries the tone and emotion of what they are reading.  Although I would prefer to turn off the narration and read the ebooks myself.  There is also an option to record your own voice and play it back to your kids.

Aside from the story itself, there are fun activities that can be done within the app.  Kids can play the puzzle or send a e-postcard.  While this is a good feature, there really nothing much to it.  Probably, the kids might get bored with similar activities.  Only the illustration changes but that’s it.

Overall, I like this Ipad Apps for Kids.  It’s easy to use and I definitely like the selection of stories.  They have close to 100 stories already which go a long way for bedtime stories.  You won’t easily run out for things to share with your kids.

It may be a bit expensive to collect all of the titles.  I suggest you pick the ones which are new or not easily available in bookstores or the library.
