3 Terrible Games With My 9 Month Old

It has been a wonderful 9 months with my son Gab.  Here’s growing bigger and bigger.  At nine months, he is on track with his developments.  Right now, Gab starts to make clearer sounds, crawls very well and tries to walk.  Most of the time, we spend time playing.  But some games are too tiresome and stressful for Daddy.  Here’s a rundown of the three games that Gab love to play, but Daddy wished I never taught him at all.

Gab at Play

1.  Catch and Drop
A game of catch is good for children for them to develop eye and hand coordination.  We have a stuffed football toy which I toss to Gab and ask him to catch it.  Gab doesn’t catch it well, yet.  But his eyes follows the ball very well.  Then, I would ask Gab to return the ball to me.  He doesn’t hand the ball over.  Instead, he would drop it on the floor.  And Gab does that to all other stuffs like the remote control, feeding bottle and even my cellphone.  He even claps his hands when he hears the object hit the floor with a bang!

2.  Climb the Mountain

This used to be fun when Gab was still a few kilos in weight.  I would let Gab place his feet on my stomach and I would let his feet climb up to my chest or even higher.  He loves the height and would laugh once he gets on top.  But now that Gab weighs 10 kilos, Daddy can’t keep up with him.  My stomach and chest could feel the pounding of his feet.  My arms would then be painful after carrying him that long.

3.  Paper Shredder

This is the most terrible.  He knows how to tear paper apart.  First, he will crumple them.  Then, he would turn the crumpled paper several times over, as if to find its weak part.  Once he takes a hold on both ends, Gab tears the paper just like how The Hulk would tear his clothes.  He did it on a brochure so far.  He almost did it on my magazines.  That is why, I don’t feel like buying new books.

Playing games with Gab has a down side.  I may feel tired afterwards and burned out.  But Daddy loves seeing Gab laugh when we play these games.  Everytime he looks at me and smile, I know he’s up for another game and Daddy just comply.
