Good Mornings Starts with Three Happy Things for Gab

Sometimes, Gab would wake up crying in the morning.  There are times that he would wake up in a good mood and call me “Dad-d”.  But more often, he wakes up calling “Mom-m” and finds out that Quennie has already left for work.  So I have to come up with things to cheer him up and assure him that all is fine with Daddy around.

Unfortunately, Daddy’s presence is not enough.  I have to call help from animals to brighten up Gab’s day.

The Dog – Gab is so fond of animals.  He already knows some sounds of animals as early as 10 months.  Dogs amuse him. Everytime he sees one, he’d mimic the sound of a dog,  “Ah-u”.  When he wakes up and sees the dog, he’d just say “Ah-u” and I know that he’s off to a good start.

Tigger – Among his stuff toys, Tigger seems to be his favorite.  I think it’s because, Tigger is just the right size for him to hug.  Tigger fits perfectly in his arms and he loves to hug Tigger and give Tigger a kiss on the nose.  Tigger is my second line of defense if The Dog doesn’t amuse Gab.

Fish – If Gab still cries with The Dog and Tigger around, I am prepared for The Fish.  This is actually an iPad App called Fish Fingers!  It is a 3D Aquarium of realistic fishes floating on your iPad screen.  You can download a FREE  version here.  Fishes are one of Gab’s favorite animals.  This is one app he really asks for.  Whenever he does a baby sign for fish, we open this app in iPad.  Gab will then give a big smile and keeps on doing the baby sign for fish.

Mornings with Gab and Friends

This particular morning, Gab needs all three to cheer him up.

The Dog, the Tiger and the Fish.  Sounds like meal time for Dad, but for Gab, it sounds like a start of a great new day.
