I bought Megabloks with hopes that it will help develop Gab’s motor skills and creativity. But it took more than a month before Gab really played with it.
At first Gab would just pick the pieces and leave it lying around his corner. He doesn’t like stacking them together.
I would show him how to play with the Megabloks. I would make planes, trucks, houses and his favorite… robot. But Gab calls it a boyot. He would just watch me build and he would play with it afterwards.
I would ask him to help out as I build. I would ask for certain colors which he would gladly look for in the box and give to me. Sometimes I ask him to put one block over another.
Finally, the weeks of setting an example paid off. Gab was able to build his own boyot from scratch. Que was there to help out a little in making sure the pieces are well placed. But it was Gab who put them together.
And here’s the final boyot that Gab made. It doesn’t look like the ones I would build for him but it’s a start.

I bought a cheaper version of this just to test if my toddler wants and plays with it. Will purchase Megabloks perhaps this Christmas.
