Gab Cries Twice A Day

Gab cries twice a day. He cries in the morning and in the evening. I wish I can help but it seems to be part of his routine already. But we have a way to calm him down.

Gab Crying

Gab cries in the morning once he wakes up. He cries for MILK. He must be hungry from those hours of sleep.  If I have the bottle in the room, I would immediately give it to him and he will be silent and sleeps again.  That is a fast remedy and I can resume to what I was doing.

But if it is already late and it’s time to get up. I won’t give him his bottle of milk. So he will cry out loud for milk and really shed tears that will be absorbed by the bedsheets. Sometimes he will even beg for milk by saying please.  This breaks my heart but I know he needs to eat breakfast and skip his milk.

I would carry him down to the living room where his toys are waiting for him. It won’t take long until Gab stops crying and calms down.  It is just the start of his brand new day.

Gab cries in the evening before he sleeps.  He cries for iPAD. It is his routine to play with some of his apps before bedtime.  He has a lot of favorites and he would probably play til midnight if we allow him to. So after sometime, Quennie and I would ask him to play one more round before we turn the iPad off.  Then we would ask him to say goodbye to the iPad and remove it from him.  That is when he would start crying.

He would scream for iPad and move restlessly on his bed. To calm him down, we would remind him of the routine. Once we turn off the iPad, it’s time to pray, turn off the lights and go to bed.

Gab would still have tears in his eyes as he straightens up, sit down, and put his hands together to pray. Then, Gab would point out to the switch and say “Off”. We’d carry him towards the switch and let him turn it off himself. Once the lights are out, he would giggle since he knows I’m going to tickle him as I lay him on his bed.

They say that crying is a way of exercising his lungs.  I guess, crying twice a day is healthy after all.
