Doctor’s Advice in Introducing Solid Food for Baby

During our last visit, our doctor recommends that we start introducing solid food for Gab. She mentioned that Gab is ready for solid food and left us with these guides in selecting and giving Gab his first gastronomic experience.

Gab is showing signs that he is ready for solid food. You can check the simple guide here to see if your baby is ready for solid foods as well.

The guide below is from our pedia. While this looks applicable to other babies, it is best to consult your doctor for their advice. Different babies will have different needs.

This is prepared by Dr. Vienne Saulog.  She suggests that first we start introducing rice or cereals with Gab.  Then we introduce the vegetables.  After that we introduce fruits.  Meat and its alternative will be given last.

We thought fruits will be introduced early.  Doc Vienne suggests to introduce babies to sweets at a later time.

Doc Vienne also noted to give the same food for 5 days.  This will help us isolate any possible allergies that will come out in certain food.

So we start with brown rice this weekend.  Can’t wait to see how Gab will gobble up his spoonful of rice.
