This weekend is the 17th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. It will sure be a fun weekend in Clark Freeport Zone Pampanga on February 9 – 21, 2012.
Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta attractions will include:
Ballooning.
Hot air balloons are launch early in the morning. And there’s usually a tethered balloon on the grounds so you and your family can experience going up in a balloon without having to worry about where to land!
Aeromodelling.
Watch pilots navigate remote-control airplanes. These are real planes just not “full-size!”
Kite Flying.
See dancing kites as Kite Team Philippines and the Philippine Kite Association team up to show you the best of kite flying in the country. This is not a usual site to see hundreds of kites flying at the same time!
Paragliding.
There are many kinds of aircrafs in the show including paragliders. Paraglider pilots hail from many different countries will be flying to entertain the crowd.
Skydiving.
Expert parachutists from the Philippines and abroad have joined forces with AFP specialists to give you a show. From the crack-of-dawn flag jump to the mass drops, the parachuting events are always a joy to watch.
Ultralights.
These are small aircrafts. Look for them as they participate in flybys and periodically dropping flour bombs on targets in the show area.
“The Balloon Fiesta hopes to fuel the passion of flying to both the young and the old to help move the aviation industry forward. It also hopes to create jobs and business opportunities by promoting Tourism.
The Fiesta hopes to instill discipline in the young pilots participating in it so that they may be safe aviators for the country as well as impart the spirit of volunteerism to everyone.”

We hope to visit Pampanga in the next years for Gab to experience this event. I was able to see the show 2 years ago and every year, the event is getting bigger.
