Wabi-Sabi Vegetarian Noodle House

Wabi-Sabi Vegetarian Noodle House is a simple noodle house located at The Collective in Brgy. San Antonio, Makati.  It serves vegetarian dishes from noodle, ramen, pho, shumai and teas.  I am just glad I found this place which is just walking distance away from home.

We have been looking where to dine for delicious noodles.  Gab enjoys eating noodles.  He likes sipping the broth and chewing on the firm noodles.  He doesn’t eat the meat.  He just prefers the broth and the noodles.  That’s all.

A friend mentioned the Wabi-Sabi Vegetarian Noodle House is at The Collective and I immediately gave it a try.  It is just so near that I can visit it as often as I want.  And since it is vegetarian, their dishes will be perfect for Gab.

Wabi-Sabi is located inside The Collective. It’s at the right side near the skateboard and ukelele shop.  It’s a small place that can seat less than 20 people.  It might not be easy to look for it the first time but the building is just small so you won’t get lost.

The menu only consists of a few choices written on the board.  There’s the noodles, shumai, steamed buns, kuapao, bahn my, milk teas and a few more items.  Ordering was just quick.  I ordered a shoyu ramen, a mushroom shumai and the thai milk tea.

Price is reasonable. The ramen was only 120 Php and the drink at 60 Php.  For less than 200 Php, it’s a full meal already.

I asked for the difference between the noodles.  The shoyu ramen  is soy sauce based.  The miso ramen is made with miso paste or fermented soybeans. The viet pho is the traditional Vietnamese noodle soup.

The mushroom shumai arrived first with the Thai milk tea.  The mushroom shumai lacks the flair.  No presentation whatsoever.  It even looked raw and uncooked.  The Thai milk tea looks inviting.  I can’t wait to drink it.

But you can’t judge a shumai from its wrapper. 😀  The mushroom shumai tastes okay.  It’s not spectacular but its chunky and filling.  The Thai milk tea though is excellent.  I really like the taste and the creaminess of the milk.

Then came the shoyu ramen to which Gab exclaims, “Yehey!”.

It has a light saltiness and generous broth that Gab loves.  He really finds it delicious as long as there is nothing else on his spoon aside from the noodle and the broth.  No meat.  No leaves.

The shoyu ramen comes with vegetarian meat, vegetarian ham(?), half an egg and a few herbs for garnish.  The hot broth was just what I need a day after the Typhoon Mario caused floods in the area.

Wabi-Sabi Noodle House also sells some frozen vegetarian food like the kuapao, steamed buns, shumai and others.  You can have them for take home and cooked at your own house.

Wabi-Sabi Vegetarian Noodle House is located at The Collective.  The Collective is at 7274 Malugay St., Brgy. San Antonio Makati.  Contact number is 09189622935 and email at wabidashsabi@gmail.com.  It’s just beside the Linear Condominium.

Overall, I love the ramen and I would love to come back for more.  Gab has some noodle cravings and the place is just near for us to take a walk and enjoy good food.

I would hope there will be other items in the menu.  I would be glad to try them too next time.
