SilverTec Super Power Bank Product Review

I recently bought a Silvertec Super Power Bank for my iPhone 5 since the battery doesn’t last for one day. I play heavily using my iPhone 5 and I have lots of notifications enabled. I can’t leave home if it is not fully charged.  I finally decided to buy a power bank when I frequently have to leave the house for meetings and the iPhone battery dies down before I reach back home.

I chose the Silvertec Super Power Bank 5200mAh capacity (SY52). It can charge my iPhone for 2-3 times from 10% to fully charged. It suits me just right. Below is my review of the Silvertec Super Power Bank.

PROs

  • Lightweight. It is not bulky and fits the small pockets in my bag. It’s not ideal to be placed inside the pocket of your jeans though.
  • Durable and Reliable. It uses Sanyo batteries which I believe is durable. I own Sanyo products for my DSLR and I never have problem with the batteries for two years now.
  • Up to 3 charges. It can fully charge a drained iPhone 5 between 2 to 3 times.  That is an easy number to remember so I can easily note when to recharge the SilverTec Super Power Bank again.
  • Comes with LED Torch Function. This can be used as a mini flashlight in case of emergency. Not very bright but useful in finding things when the lights are already off for bedtime.
  • Multiple device compatibility. It comes with detachable adaptors which you can change to match the connector for iPhone, Nokia, Andriod and even Blackberry devices.

CONs

  • Deceiving battery level indicator. The are four small lights to indicated the battery level. After charging the iPhone twice, three lights still remain. But on the third charge, the Silvertec Super Power Bank just ran out of juice.

Summary

Knowing that SilverTec Super Power Bank uses Sanyo Cell for its batteries puts me at ease that this device is durable. It works well for iPhone 4/4S/5 and also for my Nokia phone. It easy to carry everyday and can last up to 3 full charges.  The battery indicator is misleading though.  So despite showing 3 of 4 levels, I know I have one more full charge left.

    1. Hi Serene, the LED Torch is activated by pressing the power button for a few seconds. You can also turn it off by pressing it for a few seconds again.

    1. The model above has 4 lights around the middle button. The lights blink when it is still charging. Once it is full charged, all lights are lit and will no longer be blinking.

  1. I bought the 7200 mAh one but it can only charge my iPad from 10% to full only once the power bank may also run out of battery just after my iPad is charged till 80%. ( My Power bank is charged fully and it is the exact same model as seen here )

  2. i have the same model which i purchased yesterday. i charged it overnight and when i woke up, the LED light is LIT and wont turn off, i tried holding the button for several seconds. it wont charge my phone either. could it be broken?
