PLDT Home is rolling out a faster and more powerful Telpad. The PLDT Home Telpad now runs on a Quad-core processor for seamless multitasking, better graphics and enriched multimedia and overall user experience.
With the new Telpad, subscribers can WATCH, LISTEN and PLAY more. To date, Telpad has over 100,000 subscribers nationwide.
Its speed and multi-core architecture allows more content to be enjoyed by the subscribers. PLDT Home subscribers can listen to a wide array of songs from Spinnr, play the best games from EA Games, watch movies from ClickPlay, watch the latest news and information from New5 Everywhere, and new channels like Asianovelas, animes on MyPinoyTV.

While that sounds like a lot for the Telpad to provide, there’s actually more room for content. That’s why Telpad will soon provide educational apps, digital newspapers, magazines and textbooks, and more applications for entertainment. Telpad will also provide a VoIP service app with the updated heyU.
My PLDT Home Telpad Experience
I had a chance to test out the new Quad-core powered PLDT Home Telpad.
First stop was Ready, Set, Go! where I got to play a racing game using the Telpad. I love racing games. Racing games require a lot of processing power. It’s heavy on graphics and sounds. If the processor is slow, the movement of the cars will not be smooth and it will be hard to control the car. But the new PLDT Home Telpad was really fast. The cars moved swiftly without any stalling on the graphics. The racing game just loads and plays perfectly on the Telpad’s Quad-core processor.
Telpad is built for speed
Second stop was Name That Tune where I need to guess at least 3 songs being played on the Telpad. Moving from one song to the next was a breeze with the Telpad. The next songs just loads almost instantaneously. Some slow devices would hang for a while before it loads the next song. But with Telpad, listening from one song to the next was a pleasure.

Third and last stop was Now Showing where I need to guess the name of the movie from the trailer videos being shown on the Telpad. Watching movies is even more demanding and the Telpad delivers the content reliably. The resolution was really good that you can even connect the Telpad to your TV and watch it in a bigger screen.

PLDT Home Online Ambassadors, Doug and Cheska of Team Kramer also had a great time using the new PLDT Home Telpad with Quad Core power. Top players of the Watch, Listen, Play booths during the launch had a chance to battle it out with Team Kramer. I wasn’t listed as a top player. The closest I had was in 3rd position at the Now Showing booth.
