Eat Some Junk Food Please

Food is an acquired taste.  What makes it yummy or yucky is a matter of personal choice.  Gab’s choices has been healthy but I hope he eats junk food once in a while.

We encourage Gab to eat healthy food.  From a young age, we minimize his exposure to sweets.  So we are not surprised if he doesn’t eat too many chocolates, ice creams and candies.

Whenever we eat, his choices have been healthy.

He prefers fruit juices instead of soda.  He picks yogurt drinks over flavored iced teas.

He likes pomodoro and pesto pasta instead of the sweet style spaghetti in fast foods.

I was even surprised that he prefers to finish a whole garlic bread from Sbarro when there is a Rocky Road Donut from Country Style right in front of him.

Gab and Chocolates

He does not crave for ice cream and chocolates.  While he loves F.I.C. Pistacio Ice Cream and M&Ms, there are times he would refuse it even when we offer it to him.

Before, we’d hide the chocolates, candies and ice cream from him.  We don’t offer him anything that we think is too sweet or too salty.  If I would buy ice cream or chocolate, I’d eat it when Gab is not around or when Gab is asleep.

Today, we let Gab be more exposed to sweets.  He does like them especially M&Ms.  But sometimes, I won’t even touch it like the Rocky Road Donut.

At least, it was his choice not to eat too many sweets and not because are telling him not to. I hope he continues making healthy choices… so that I still have the bigger share of sweets at home.  😀

We still control how much sweets Gab will eat.  We don’t let him eat the entire contents of M&Ms in one sitting.  We’d give him a few pieces per meal.  And another set on the next day.

And there are days we’d just let him finish and enjoy the whole pack.

Eat some junk food please.
