Back to volunteer work

Back to the time that I’m not yet pregnant and Gab is not around yet, other than running, volunteer work keeps my weekends busy. And for Hands On Manila (HOM) volunteer sherpas, the Servathon is one activity we looked forward to.

Servathon (Service + Marathon) is a day of community service that’s participated by thousands of volunteers working on simultaneous projects in different parts of the metro.

Last Saturday was 6th HOM’s Servathon event. It was participated by volunteers from a total of 28 corporations – repainting and refurbishing classrooms, playgrounds, constructing bookshelves for libraries, painting of murals in schols. Quoted form HOM’s president, Junie Del Mundo, “A two-hour volunteer work in the Servathon was a good step towards a lifetime of commitment to volunteerism.”

Good job HOM sherpas for leading the volunteers! 🙂
